I lived on the east coast 1980 to 1987. This song is my tribute to my maritime friends. James
FISHERMAN SONG

Inland born, I worked in the fields, plowin ‘til the day was through,
But I heard a call on the winds of fall say the sea is waiting for you,
So I headed for the coast full of youth and boast and a love so true,

‘Twas the love for the life as a fisherman, to sail the ocean blue.
‘Twas the love for the life as a fisherman, to sail the ocean blue.

So I joined with the crew of the “Morning Dew” and we sailed the ocean waves,
As we cast our nets we would sing a bit to the tunes of the olden days,
High fiddle diddle and deedily die, liv’in the life I choose,

‘Tis a mighty fine life for a man to live, liv’in like I do.
‘Tis a mighty fine life for a man to live, liv’in like I do.

Though the years go by like day into night still I take my life in stride,
For there’s strength in waves, hope in the moon, and peace in the morning tide,
High fiddle diddle and a deedily die, liv’in the life I choose,

‘Tis a mighty fine life for a man to live, liv’in like I do
‘Tis a mighty fine life for a man to live, liv’in like I do
